so. i've decided there are distinct differences between luck and fortune. The latter i have...the former i do not.
i'm not a lucky person. i've come to accept that, i think. "luck" deals with anything superfluous and unnecessary for my existence that would make my life peachy. i'm a fortunate person. "fortune" deals with anything that i take for granted, that i am very fortunate to have.
luck is not my thing, unfortunately. especially anything extracurricular. my luck sucks that way. moving for my senior year pretty much eliminated all of my plans. so much for that. and, well, here at cal...it could be better. i AM fortunate to even be here at Cal, though...i mean, i almost went to an east coast school. and Cal is a great university, and being a part of the band is enriching my college experience so much.
i think that he might be right. i have time for other things now...and since next year is going to be financially difficult, with my other sister going to college, and her not being the most monetarily frugal person...i need to get a job. i'd like to be able to pay for my wants and needs, so that my parents won't have to. road trips, anything that is "extra"...
and i want to start this spring. something simple, easy to do, not research or anything yet. it'll help me deal with things and give me something to focus my energy on. plus, i'll get paid. can't beat that.
and i need to appreciate what i do have. while i may not be lucky, i try as hard as i can, and if that's not good enough, then i'll be happy with what i have. and wait for the next opportunity to try again.
go bears.
