WOOT. no more studio!! for the summer anyway. pulled way too many all-nighters, and if it weren't for nols, i doubt i would've made it. oy. but yes. my review was the shit. and now i'm done. alls i have to do is clean out my desk, and i'm getting a car for that, so no sweat.

so yay for sleep. slept 16 hours after having only 4 hours of sleep over a span of 2+ days.

as for the review, i got bored...thank goodness i had my laptop. i typed up some of what i learned in studio. i'll share some of it here. :P

Things to take away from ED11B final project critique & studio:

-Make sure your drawings are visible from far away. Zip-a-tone is your friend. Especially if you’re lazy.

-Diagram EVERYTHING. Everything. Cuz then it looks like you’ve done something.

-Having no sleep and coffee makes my tummy hurt.

-Standing hurts. Sitting hurts. The only position that doesn’t hurt is lying down. I miss lying down. And sleeping. :P

-Don’t talk too much. Just talk enough. Otherwise they get confused.

-It sucks when someone bumps into your project and it blows up and dies. Especially right before your review. Poor Lauren.

-When Michelle is bored, she’ll play with anything. ANYTHING. Like wood. And flashlights.

-Make eye contact. But only with the nice ones.

-Always try and nail what the reviewers are trying to get at. They like that. And then they shut up. Finally.

-Bullshitting is an art form. Learn it. Michelle has.

-Pixate. Pyscotic. These words exist in studio review. And only in studio review.

-Rods and holes suck. But they are impressive. Damnit.

-Always talk like you know what you’re talking about. Never give in. Never show weakness. They look for it. Think sales-pitch.

-Harold is cute. And fuzzy.

-Have things that move. And make noise. They like that too. Think babies.

-Make shit up. Right up to the last minute. If you sound like you know what you’re talking about, they think you do know. Most of the time anyway. Until you shake a rattle in their face. Michelle.

-Bring EVERYTHING to review. Even the crap you scribble on napkins. They want to see it. It's "process."

-Sketch models are a waste of money. Real models are a big waste of money. Especially when they liked the cheaper sketch model more.

-The milling machine is the bestest machine in the shop. Ever.

Don’t projects that require lots of little pieces.

-Do projects that are easy to draw.
